ADELAIDE SARVAJANIK GANESHOTSAV RULES   REGULATIONS 2017

  1. Acceptance to perform in the Adelaide Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav will be after discussion by the Cultural Committee. We will work with your group to ensure your happiness, your performance and the festival’s theme are all in alignment.Therefore we recommend that rehearsal of performance pieces is withheld until you have personally received notice from the Cultural Executive (Mrs. Neeta Naik) of your application’s acceptance. You should receive this confirmation within 2 days of your application via email or phone – please contact Mrs. Neeta Naik (0432236036) if you do not receive confirmation after the waiting period (2 days) specified.

    For applications to be successful, we will prefer performance applications that;

    1. involve groups of artists rather than solo acts – groups must be larger than 3 artists in number. We understand however, that Classical Indian performance pieces are usually performed in solo acts ie. ‘invocation to Lord Ganesha’ – therefore we are more than happy to review these as an exception.
    2. are in theme with the Event; i.e. appropriate song choice and costume for a socio-religious family event.
    3. we must receive the forms back by the due date – it is the coordinator/choreographer’s responsibility to ensure the Cultural Committee receives the form; therefore please avoid giving forms to a third party as due to this reason previously, forms have been misplaced or handed in past the due date which does not allow the Cultural Committee to organise the schedule in a timely and fair fashion for all participants.
    4. ASGS reserves the right to decide on time slot and day – all performances are viewed with the same respect for the effort to create them, but please keep in mind – the number and age of participants, the target audience present at that time of the day, the relevance to the festival’s aims and the ‘hype/vibe’ it produces in the correct slot will determine the placing.
    5. ASGS understands that participants may have a preferred DAY to perform due to work commitments etc. therefore we will review any DAY requests given in the initial form – and will provide an confirmation re. this on acceptance if successful. We would appreciate no late requests on changes on this, once the final schedule has been published.

We are truly grateful to have your support each and every year and we recognise that without your keen enthusiasm to participate, ASG would not be the groundbreaking and exciting festival it is today. We as artists sincerely understand the enormous effort a performance involves, therefore we THANKYOU from the bottom of our hearts, for taking the time to read this Application Packet and coordinating with our team. We look forward to seeing your spectacular performances at Adelaide Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav 2017!

GANPATI BAPPA MORYA!!
